An internship at Van Oord

and final theses. This could be a project abroad, a project in the Netherlands or in one of our offices
in the Netherlands. An internship at Van Oord means to apply your theoretical knowledge in a
dynamic environment. As an intern, you will work alongside for example a Superintendent while he
performs his day-to- day work. Do you want to know what it’s like to work at Van Oord or would like
to read more about internships and graduation projects, please check our website
Our English-oriented technical traineeship takes one year to complete and is an excellent stepping stone in your career, an ideal chance to get to know various aspects of the marine contracting, dredging and offshore energy sectors in a short period of time. By working in various departments, and on projects and on equipment around the globe, you will get to know Van Oord in an intense way. Our employment conditions are competitive and comprehensive.
During my traineeship I spent twelve months learning the ropes in different departments. I also worked on two projects abroad and got to know a lot of fellow employees.’ As a trainee, Philip worked on projects in Costa Rica and Bahamas. ‘It was quite an experience. From day one I had to shoulder a lot of responsibility. It wasn’t always easy, certainly at first, but I soon learned to take decisions and solve problems in specific situations.
After succesfully completing your traineeship, you will work on our international (dredging, offshore and offshore energy) projects, or at our Ship Management Department, Engineering and Estimating Department, Procurement or Quality Health Safety and Environment Department. Read about the experiences of former trainees Esther Bijloo (Superintendent) and Philip van Loon (Trainee Engineer).
High Heels, High Career
High Heels, High Career
